Greetings and Welcome,
Pompano Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to
provide assistance and support through established programs in
local communities and throughout the world. We are a sisterhood
of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women
with more than 900 chapters in the United States, England, Japan,
Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the
Republic of Korea.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1913 by 22 dynamic
women at Howard University. These 22 women collectively used
their strength to promote academic excellence, provide scholarship,
support the underserved, educate and stimulate participation in the
establishment of positive public policy and to highlight issues and
provide solutions for problems in their communities.
The Pompano Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority, Inc continues the rich legacy of these 22 dynamic women by
serving the northern area of Broward County from Deerfield Beach,
west to Coral Springs and south to Commercial Blvd. PBAC is
dedicated to serving the community through our Five Programmatic
Thrust which include:
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement
Economic Development
Educational Awareness
The women of PBAC use these programs to impact our communities
and transform the lives of those involved in them. This includes
our youth programs that are positively impacting the lives of our
youth, male and female, providing leadership skill development,
scholarships and opportunities for community service.
As we stand on the shoulders of our Founders and Delta women
every where we dedicate ourselves to our biennial theme: “Delta
Sigma Theta-A Sisterhood Called to Serve: Transforming Lives,
Impacting Communities”
With Warm Wishes,
Kayhlene M. Gainer
President
